PocketBook 360°PocketBook 360° is an alternative device on the electronic books market. The main reason to create such an alternative e-reader device was the idea of making something new, strongly competitive according to already existing classic e-readers present on the market. By classic e-readers models we mean very popular models with 6″ screen. Today some models of e-readers have a keyboard or even a touch screen. But they are all built on the basis of 6 inches screen with pretty limited functions, made just for reading. Manufacturers combined economical efficiency and portability in PocketBook 360°. The screen of this particular model is bigger then other pocket e-readers have. It is a very thin device — 1sm width only. Thin, elegant and lightweight. Subconsciously that light weight brings you a feeling of a thin e-reader. It’s not bigger then a palm of a man. There is no soft cover. You have got a plastic case instead, which you can put into the pocket or clip it to the other side of the e-reader. The keys are located on the wide right side of the ebook which enabled us to remove more plastic around the frames of the screen. Normally you operate this e-reader with a joystick. The device has internal memory, and supports MicroSD cards for external storage. Card slot is next to the power button. There is a mini-USB slot on the lower side of the device. It is used for data transfer, as well as for charging PocketBook 360°. Fully charged unit will work for at least two weeks, if used for about 3 hours a day. The software of PocketBook 360° is nearly identical to the one used in PocketBook 301. Same software is used in all Pocketbook models and is continuously developed and advanced for all PocketBook models. This e-reader supports FB2, TXT, PDF, DJVU, RTF, HTML, PRC, CHM, EPUB, DOC formats, and graphics formats JPEG, BMP, GIF. Reading PocketBook 360° is a real pleasure and its comptability makes this e-reader a very convinient book for a traveller. Built-in Accelerometer determines the position of the device in space and, being turned on, automatically changes texts’ and images’ position on the display. It should be taken into account that the use of the accelerometer increases energy consumption. The screen of PocketBook 360° has the same resolution as the six inches models (600×800).
